June 2017 Rotorheads Desktop Calendar
All,
Do you remember when you were a child, before you got to fly helicopters, you looked forward to small, but exciting things? Like when the Tooth Fairy was coming ... you ripped your own tooth out, put it under your pillow, and then every morning you looked innocently and expectantly ... hoping that you might find a small coin under your pillow? Ultimately though, you were disappointed, because you hoped beyond hope, in spite of the harsh reality.
Sourcing the photos for this calendar is a little like that. Every day you look under the pillow to see if one of the fairies has left something shiny for you .... aaaand ... nup.
Fortunately, just as I was about to hand draw a Hiller OH-23 Raven using only BBQ charcoal, spit, a fingertip, and a slightly unnatural love, we were saved by a gentleman who has created an image of perfect lustre and light.
Thanks again to Andrew Griffiths of Lensaloft who has journeyed to the remote outback town of New York City to make masterpieces, and happily shared one of his happy snaps with us. Thank you Andrew.
