Isle of Wight, UK – Round the Island Race

I’ve raced in the Round the Island Race many times, but never flown the course or around the IoW on race day.

With 1600 yachts, there are always a few news helicopters, but has it turned into a “hornets’ nest” of heli activity over the past years?

I’m planning on flying down from about 2hrs post start when yachts should be rounding the Needles. Any feedback from recent years re guidance/restrictions?
