Bell 412 VH-VAB Melbourne Sat 25/03/17

Anyone know what it was doing? Thanks!

We sat down for lunch at a cafe in Essendon on Saturday and the old air ambulance Bell 412 (VH-VAB) flew over. I had not heard the sound of a 412 for what seemed like a long time since the new Ambulance Victoria choppers went online.

VAB started doing some slow orbits the whole time we were eating and I can see it's still doing it now many hours later near the zoo.

Just curious...

Hey Tickle,

This aircraft is now on contract to the RAAF and based out of RAAF East Sale (see photos here). Given the Roulettes are doing their usual runs around the Melbourne F1 GP, I would presume it was there supporting them.

Makes sense, thanks! A lone Hornet went over my house and back not long ago.
