RAF Puma Track & Balance.

Dear All,
Does the RAF still use Rotortune on their Pumas and has anyone used RADS-AT on the same?

Thanks, Flag T.

You might find the Military Aviation Forum a better place to ask that one

From what I remember, spray LE with paint from tip to adjacent tabs. Don’t let camera look directly at sun. + tabbing is tabs up – tabbing is tabs down. Make sure camera angle is set for 330 not 332.

Hope this helps.

We moved from Rotortune to RADs on the RAF Sea Kings about 10 years ago so I wouldn't be surprised if the SH force did the same with Pumas.

You could get the T and B in limits quicker with RADS but only because the limits were less strict than with Rotortune. That meant the aircraft was serviceable quicker and therefore availability stats went up. The aircraft still vibrated and wobbled though!

surely the HC2 upgrade would have included HUMS with built in T&B functionality?

I'm sure it did and I'm sure when the aircraft are serviceable that it works quite well

At least the upgrade was much cheaper than a trade-in for some EC725s........
