Eminently sensible really, and the on site engineer is a real plus IMO.

I'm a bit out of touch here - does that mean that SAS are moving out of Staverton, or just setting-up an additional remote maintenance base at Redhill?

I believe Redhill will just be a remote base for Sasmaspas Thud.

Ah, thanks Handy. Wish them all well; had some very pleasant shifts at Marden.

Wonder what use is made of its old facility at Dunsfold; purpose built I believe. Hope it wasn't a total waste of money.
I was on duty in the tower there one day when the helicopter did a heavy landing nearby, touching down on its tailcone first. They gently flew it back to the hangar and took it away by road next day, a replacement arriving under cover of darkness on the day of the incident.
