Helicopter down in Tring, UK

Herts Fire Control report a helicopter has crashed at Aldbury near Tring. Helicopter was reported as 'smoking' and power lines have been affected. One report says the pilot is unhurt - let's hope so, keeping everything crossed.

Looks like an EN480 turbine. Hit cables on take off, but pilot ok.

Very unfortunate. The power cables look like someone's washing line. I guess that's where 'wire cutters' would have been useful.


Could have been nasty, but Enstrom do claim that their cabin has an integral safety cell, and it seems to have withstood the accident well.
