Japan picks Fuji-Bell for UH-X
A rehashed old 412? I guess the U.S. doesn't mind sharing 50 year old technology with Japan but there is no way they were going to give away the knowledge and technology of the 525.
.
The 525 has not been designed for military purpose.
So Bell can't provide something more modern than an improved 412 (a reliable platform).

The UH-1Y is a more modern and more reliable platform than the M-412. Don't know if they are willing to share/sell that technology either.

It may...I'm not sure what their plans are. I am familiar with UH-1Y. I'm just saying Bell has more modern and more reliable technology available than 412. I was also involved with the effort to help FUJI build their own bearingless fiberglass rotor back in the late 80's early 90's to install on their co-production UH-1J that didn't turn out so good. It will be interesting to see if FUJI/Japan requests a bearingless rotor for their new product.
