wanted to rent AS-350 Central/West Florida

Hello I am looking to rent a AS350 for a couple of hours in Florida. Venice/ Tampa/ Naples/ Orlando ideally.

My father is getting on and would like to go flying for a few hours and my brother will be in town with his family. I happen to be visiting a the same time. It was suggested maybe we could rent a helicopter for a day. I know what is going to cost, so you please spare me the rent a robbie replys

I am happy to pay for a check out and then a 2 hr min rental.

7000+ tt, ATP
Current Airbus factory school with in last 12 months ( AS350B3 ground and flight)
Former part 135 company flight instructor ( on As350B3's)
1600+ hrs in type

Id consider a 500 or a 206 ( lots of time in both types) but would prefer AS350.

Any suggestions on who to contact.

Someone mentioned there was now a flight school out of the airport in Venice that had a AS350.

cheers

RB

Pistons, yes. Turbines, no. Maybe (and a big maybe) if you have a long relationship with a school but getting turned loose with just a checkout, no.

Why don't you rent a hotel room out instead for a couple of hours - bit more space to be honest

I have found it easier to go on a tour helicopter. I know it would be more enjoyable to fly it yourself but the tour pilots know where the good sites are, know the area and air space rules and they will deal with you in most cases to take a more personally planned flight. You just have to pay for it.

They have a 206 for $1200 per hour advertised. Or you could get checked out in the R44. I have a few hours in it and its really not that bad, better than a stick in the eye. Just fly it like its about to come apart and you'll have no problems. Be gentle with her, very gentle.

My dear uncle, former air force jet jockey and retired airline captain with 33 years and xx thousand hours always told me, "treat her like a lady". Its worked well for me so far.

Cheers..
