iPad3 or iPad mini for flying, any thoughts please?

I use an ipad mini 4 and a Bad Elf GPS unit, have used RunWayHD and Skydemon both seem up to the job to me and I mount the ipad on a knee board. Looked at some other mounting options but nothing seemed to be as efficient as the knee!
