Last Minute Christmas Shopping

December 24th, 2012

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has today signed a $3bn agreement with visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin for the purchase of 42 Sukhoi SU-30 MKI fighter jets and 71 Mi-17 V5 military helicopters.

At the end of last week Russia and India agreed to jointly develop the air-launchable version of the BrahMos cruise missile which will be fitted to Russian built Sukhoi aircraft of the Indian Air Force.

India and Russia also signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in satellite navigation through the Russian constellation of satellites Glonass. The signals from the Russians will be used to navigate a variety of missiles, including nuclear missiles.

Prime Minister Singh said that in addition to the 71 Mi-17 V5 helicopters ordered today there would be further orders for the same type in 2013.

Given that the Indians are developing their own version of GPS, adding the Russian one may be more political than practical.

Nail on the head!

Its called "The New Irac", as distinct from Iraq. India Russia And China and they are forging a military alliance with the capability of "standing up to the West" or any other force that may present itself - but the real reason is for the three countries to be able to park military assets near the borders of any country they want to subdue with political influence (trade agreements, energy resources and political alliances) - according to rumour.

With France already in bed with Russia what this boils down to is basically standing up to North America, Australia and one or two European countries. The game at the moment is playing those countries which could go either way and who represent formidable partners, ie. Brazil, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey.

The West no longer possesses military dominance (for the first time in modern history) so watch out for the new world order!

A Merry Christmas one and all!

What utter non-sense!! Some people really need an enemy to be able to survive. But then, if not for these weird theories, how would the hawks in think-tanks earn their bread and butter.
