There is some talk of them doing a direct exchange but I believe the process has stalled. Best check with TC.
Otherwise, 2 sets of exams, some flying and a check ride. I believe you can take the IR straight off if you have an ICAO one.

I converted my FAA CPL A to Canadian a couple of years ago. An hour long 20 question exam with 60% to pass. The same for the IR. No flying involved. I believe the ATPL is the same. I dont think their converting helicopter yet.

Pat,
As I understand it you are going to need ME time to get the ATPL H in Canada. Straight validation for the CPL isnt far away.
You could do the writtens and flight test however and sort it once and for all.

Conversion..
Flopy Jock.
I have thought about converting my licence for a while. I have a FAA ATPL rotor-craft and Commercial fixed wing.
Where did you find the study material to learn?
Have a you a place to suggest to go through..
Thank you...

From one of my moles in TC:
Apparently we’re waiting on the FAA legal team to review the licence exchange documentation. Hopes are that we should have something in the first half of next year.

I ordered the books online. Calgary Pilot Supply Ltd.
I went out to Calgary for a few days and sat the exam there.

FAA to TCCA Rotorcraft Helicopter
So what's the latest concerning FAA to TCCA conversion for the Rotorcraft category? Will it finally come through this year?
