Just for interests sake, according to Wiki;
"The shortest officer in the UK, PC Sue Day of Swindon Police, is 4 feet 10 inches tall."

3000 quid after tax a month, makes it worth being a highly trained instrument of aviation. For those of you with years in professional aviation, the pinnacle of operational flying seems a rather low figure. What has been the salary for police units 10 years ago ?
But apart from my s**t stirring, the guys that fly for the police do a valuable service.

Thank goodness for HR departments; being under age 60 is not listed as an 'essential requirement' for the job. In fact there's a tick box for 'choose not to disclose your age', on the form.

Any chance?
I'm 4 foot 6 and 83 years old but, I do like Alsatians. Saw a helicopter once, hoverfly I think. Any chance?
Here, here for the police aviation boys it's tough but fun.

Hate to say this but my experience of how police forces recruit support staff is.......they already know who is going to fill this slot......just going through the motions re advertising, etc

Checked with the HR dept: Yep...."no age limit for this job" said the very helpful lady.
Thought I'd better check with the boss man, in case they had found a new wrinkle to the age lim. "Ha Ha, nice try Bertie!"
Oh well, back to to concentrating on the escape tunnel.............

Having had some involvement in the recruitment of police staff, I can say that your comment is WRONG!

Don't think I want to operate an 135 for 20 hours per day 7 days a week (description of role).
Makes a bit of a mockery of essential criteria 4 and 5 and probably 8.
Coat on leaving the house now.

Experience requirements......
I'm not saying that the job specs were written for one particular applicant, but I would like to see how the successful applicant's qualifications match up with the requirements. Will that become public information?

What is unusual about the requirements? Other than residing, which is a requirement anywhere, I and many others would fit the bill......

The living within 45 minutes of base is a standard requirement, although perhaps as it is on the 'Essential Criteria' list it should say, "The successful applicant must be prepared to reside within 45 minutes travelling time of the operating base."
However you could always say that the advert doesn't state what means of transport you must use to be within 45 minutes travelling time
(90 mile radius around Hus Bos is quite a large catchement area )

I don't think that they care how you get there Sid, as long as you can demonstrate that you can get there reliability in an emergency, day or night., within that time frame (assuming without lights and siren).
