Cartmel village in the lake district!

Free landing at the bottom of the racecourse and a 200mt walk into a great village with a few inviting hotels/pubs

Not to drift the thread (I note it says UK locations), but if you are ever in south Florida, the most interesting lunch flight I’ve had was to Fort Lauderdale Downtown Heliport. The pad is on top of a 10-story building; you land and then take the elevator down to street level and walk across for some beach front dining.

Places of interest.

If your looking for something 'a bit different', got to recommend the Burgh Island Hotel on (spookily enuff!) Burgh Island.

The island is situated just offshore of Bigbury-on-sea in S. Devon, and is really only an island at high tide. However, the hotel itself is a striking art-deco building which has a grass helipad.

If you don't fancy the hotel prices (somewhat high), there is also a very good pub on the island a whole 2 minutes walk from the pad.

Been there myself and on a glorious summers day (if we ever get one!) it's a fabulous location.................Enjoy!

I didn't know about the ones in Tarporley Joel - I used to live in Bunbury once. I was at Peckforton Castle (by car) a couple of months ago and they said you can land in their courtyard. Plenty of room but a vertical in and out over 50 ft walls so don't eat too much.

Do you know any SE of the Pennines? Near me there are the Royal Oak in Mayfield (belongs to an R44 owner), Cavendish Hotel at Baslow, Shottle Hall, Hassop Hall, Callow Hall, Red Lion at Hognaston.

Any additions especially pubs in t'hills gratefully received.

However, with every pilot I know having his or her own portfolio of 'nice places to land', isn't there some way of getting all this valuable information into one searchable database that could be available to all?!

There are a few resources one can buy, but these seem to be thinly populated. There must be thousands of other places in the UK that only experience will reveal!

Anyone ideas?! The Griffin Helicopters landing site map is the sort of format I was thinking of...

Central Italy Helipads/ Hotels

I've got a trip from Southern France to Crete next month.
The owner will be aboard and I would like to split the trip into two flying days and overnight somewhere other than an airport if possible.
Any suggestions on nice hotels/ helipads in the Central Italy region would be appreciated. Either coast would be our preference, but inland is fine as well.
We're flying an A109S.

Capri

Try SAM Helicopters based in Salerno as they seem to do a lot of transfers to the Island.

No overnight on Capri / Anacapri pad

We were just there a few days ago and the pad on Capri does not allow any overnight nor parking. The pad is strictly pick up and drop off with a "normal" 24 hour advanced notification. Cost for a landing is normally EUR 250 prepaid with Credit Card. For an overnight you will need to go to a close by airport or maybe a pad at a hotel in the area.

Bournemouth anyone?!

Anyone know of a landing site in Bournemouth (excepting EGHH...)? I've tried the Royal Bath Hotel which advertises a pad, but apparently won't let anyone use it . I'd need to be on the ground between 12:00 and 13:30 local.
