Looking at the list this seems to be turning into an army aviation fly in.

So if youve got a Sioux, Scout, Alouette might be a nice day out.

£30 for two visitor tickets or £35 exhibitor ticket.

I think that a number of aircraft are "exhibits" by the look of the list so a hidden green paint scheme might not be de rigeur.

We're looking for anything that has linage to the Gazelle, or anything that's related in some way. Fenestron equipped helicopters, for example, would be good.

Obviously, if you own a Gazelle, it'd be great if you could come.

[email protected] if anyone has any questions or would like to come!

U & A,first flew a Gaz,(-01,FZWRH) at CEV,46 yrs ago last week. 3 weeks later at AAEE, flew 003/XW276,on airtest.Next day had a transmission failure in the hover whilst winching,at about 10-15 ft..Did`nt see it again for a few months...So ,back to Marignane and Bretigny to fly -04,and 01 ..
003 was always behind the other pre-production a/c in terms of modifications to the airframe, engine and fenestron that were done to the others, but still served it`s purpose.Good to see it`s in a good retirement home....

We've tried to get 003 down to Middle Wallop for the event, sadly Newark Air Museum didn't want it to be moved, which is sad but understandable.

Sorry, it was always Gary Gazelle in the RAF, along with Walter Wessex at 2FTS.

Seem to be about 15 private Gazelles going plus some military. Also 10 Austers, no sign of any Alouette, Skeeter or Bell 47(Sioux) as yet.

Well done to the much maligned little Gary, that quietly soldiered on delivering valuable service all over the place.

My personal best experience was lifting a 4 man team with bergans. How you do it is two bergans on the middle seat, with pax 1 & 2 on the out side seats. Then pax 3 & 4 stood facing outward on the skids wearing bergans which sit in the lap of pax 1 & 2.

Mind you it needs a running start to get over the tree line at the end of the field. Now my addled memory is that it was Teeny Weeny Airlines, but as it was an Anglo-French exercise it could have been Armee de Terre like:

Had the pleasure of flying a Gazelle last week for the first time in nearly 20 years - I had forgotten how nice it is (apart from the seating position) and the visibility from the cockpit is just fantastic.

Have a great weekend at Wallop.
