The army doesn't follow the general rule "do not fly over inhabited areas"?

ARMY?

When did the Army start flying the CH-53 and when did Afghanistan become a "inhabited" area? Last time I was in Afghanistan the entire place was desolate.

I should say military, since I don't know who operates ch-53e. The chinook fell down right next to a settlement. Just because its Afganistan doesn't mean its terrorists all over the place...n'm sure nobody checked if there is anyone in the village.

I understand Phoinix. I was kidding about that part of the world. I was surprised there wasn't a drag chute on the back of that 47 fuselage.
