Assuming you are in the UK, to fly for the Coastguard you have to be in Bristow as they hold the contract. If they were recruiting, you would have to hope for a vacancy on the S61 fleet then once you had the minimum time on type (250 hrs I think) you'd have to hope for a SAR base vacancy. In all probability Sumburgh or Stornaway, as Lee on Solent and Portland are sought after postings. With your times, you would probably need to spend a couple of years on a more hour intensive operation first before going SAR as you need 3000 hours for command.
The whole SAR scene is likely to change in 2005 and you may see most of SAR being done by a civillian contractor, so you might find more opportunities offer themselves then.
No idea about Air ambulance, you'd need to contact someone like PAS at Staverton for info, though I suspect your hours are on the low side.
