With Evergreen's reputation around the world I doubt they'd get anyone to work for them here !!

CHC stand to lose a lot of money if they pull out completely. The Ibrus will win. This is Nigeria...........

See also this thread on ACN: Aero Contractors in Lagos

Luckily Aero Contractors Nigeria does NOT have any links with the US CIA front company Aero Contractors.

Any more info on this incident? When, how, who and extent of damage, etc. I thought training on the EC155 was done in the Sim?

a b,

As with (nearly) all training in Nigeria, checks are done alternately in the sim and on the aircraft. The requirement is for annual sim, so checks are done on the aircraft every 6 months.

The President of Nigeria has sent the Director of Petroleum Resources on indefinite leave and has ordered an investigation into how a series of oil contracts were awarded last year. The big winners were the Chinese and Indians. Their record in other countries, such as DRC may make people wish that this were not so. Meanwhile, Angola has now overtaken Nigeria as Africa's largest oil producer. Whilst Nigeria will continue to try and blame all its woes on its 'colonial masters' despite having now been independent for 48 years, Angola has seemingly shrugged off its colonial woes, and a 30 year civil war which finished only just over 5 years ago, to overtake Nigeria in oil output. Angola has developed 19 of its 22 deepwater assets, whilst Nigeria has developed only 4 of 44. Nigeria continues to say that it has 'minor' community problems despite the Ijaw community pulling out of the current 'peace' talks and a number of deaths and serious injuries having happened last week. Its supposed war against corruption has also been thrown into disarray after the appointment of Farida Waziri as head of the EFCC, particularly since she has given the go-ahead for a number of former governor James Ibori's money laundering collaborators to return to Nigeria.

Despite BC of CHC announcing to a number of pilots that CHC has the S76 element of the Agbami contract whilst Bristow has the S92, Bristow says that no announcement has yet been made on the award of the contract. It seems NAPIMS are what is causing the hold up. Bristow's shiny new S76C++, the first one of that type here in Bristow (not Pan African) colors is still sitting on the ground in Lagos, but they continue sending pilots and engineers on S92 courses. If they don't sort out their local allowances problem fairly such that staff at Eket feel fairly compensated for staying in their sub-standard prison, they may have difficulty in actually crewing anything if they suddenly get awarded the Agbami contract. The pay review which is due to be announced next month will doubtless be another 3 - 5% on basic. leading even more people to look at returning to the Middle East, even with the problems in that part of the world. When will they realise that if there's nothing they can do to improve people's accommodation (though that's more a refusal to spend any money on improving facilities than anything else) the only way they can hold on to what they have and persuade more people to go there is by offering either more pay, or more time off, or both

Just saw a few pictures of a Puma (J) white paint, working offshore Namibia.
Any ideas who the operator is? Contacts?

ACN AERO divorce

Forget 225s. They are not coming. Nothing else coming as long as AERO and CHC together. CHC seeking new partner. Fixed wing all gone to AERO now.

Probably a smart move following CHC Aero rumour re 225's above!

So no truth in the rumour that Stalag Luft Darrels is being upgraded to the first Nigerian Club Med Resort with the Majah & Peewee authorised by the New Jock to issue 5000 beads per diem to all inmat - sorry guests?

Has there been a final report or official determination of the cause for the 412 crash at Eket which killed the pilot who was flying solo? It would be nice to know if it was a mechanical failure or not.

That's pretty good going - not only would you need to miss "Undercarriage" in both the Approach Checks and Final Landing Checks, but you'd have to ignore the very loud AVAD "UNDERCARRIAGE" aural alert that shouts at you below 55 kts, and the red caption in front of you!

Inquiring minds.....depends upon who the TC was. Certain personalities seem to be bullet proof.

Reckon this was a major mistake?

affluent boss: Minor damage. Recently qualified TC. Main dent probably to TC's pride ?

Sasless: I think the AAIB report was published a while ago. Not been circulated though.

Thumbs up A New Beginning

Well a lot of midnight oil has been burned by daddy and I and as we come to a new crossroads we have decided to cross our bridges as we come to them. CHC is in disarray, a spent force, Bristow managements is obviously listening to music of Ravi Shankar and smelling joss stick because they can only repeat the mantra Agbami...agbami....agbami... and so on and so forth. So, we shall strike now and make hay while the iron is hot. Mr Nick Lapoos is well known is a Texan with pointiest cowboy boot and is furthermore going to Bell which have some of the toppest product in the industry. Stand by for announcement very soon of introduction of the Bell 419 turbo liner into our fleet. Stand by soon for announcement of toppest new contributory pension scheme with lost of licence insurance for all our pilots. Fleets of electrical powered bicycles will allow our pilots to go out at night without frear as they glide silent and unnoticed through the crowds until they arrive at that palm wine bar. Girls with JJC breast will gaze at them in delight at our snappy pilot with their fine cigar and new mirrored Roy Bann as we become Nigerian distributor for this product. Fleets of big envelope is bein prepared now to ensure smooth introduction to service under strictest Nigerian Code of Business Intergity. The future is bright, the future is us. A fullest announecement will be made soon. Hold your breaths

Looking at the Agbami info I am total...ly confused as to just who the presumed contract for Bristow would be with ,and whether it is replacing Aero or new business. However it seems the CHC EC225s were aimed at the same tender ,which may be why they are no longer coming .....or am I completely up the Nigerian creek with these assumptions ?
