CHC Newhires

So what is all this gossip about CHC not hiring right now? I am going to Vancouver next month for part two of the interview process. Is this for real or just a rumor?
Thanks.

CHC Newhires

Thanks, sometimes I forget what the "R" in PPRuNe stands for. I have been trying for a while to get on with CHC and now I have a break. I would not like this moment to be spoiled with a hiring freeze.
Thanks again.

Danger Getting shot

It is interesting, this level of potential violence. I have flown in (over) 5 continents, several times in "hostile environments", and the only place I have had a hit on my aircraft is in the Southeast of the US.

Moonshiners lead pretty well. I was flying at 2500' AGL and a ground speed of 138 Kts. 15 feet more to the front and we would have had some flesh torn up. As it was, only the tailboom. Did not even hear it impact.

CHC Hiring Freeze

NEO, it's more than just a rumour. This is copied from the CHC web site "Careers" section:

CHC Global Operations is not currently accepting applications, except in the case of seperate, specific postings raised on this website. However, we welcome your resume as an expression of interest in future vacancies.

Several recent hire AS365 pilots have DEFINITELY been laid off - no rumour.

CHC Newhires

I'm not an AS365, only an S-76 guy, so hopefully they're not kicking (or gonna be kicking) the S-76 guys to the curb.

Well, it's 2 S76s that are being sent out of Nigeria. Even Mani has been brought back to try and sort out the mess they've made!

Is it just Bristows operating the S92 in Africa?

No operator has S-92s in Africa yet, though the rumour is they will appear in Lagos, towards the year end, with BHL.

Figures vary but it looks as though the attacks and strikes are biting. Oil production is down anywhere from 50 % to 65 % depending which report you read.

Will the Government finally step in and do something decisive about the Niger Delta ?

Talking

NEO,

Of course they will. I have it on very good authority that the 2nd Amphibious Brigade, aided by the USMC 3rd Marine Corps division will be kicking sh!t around 0600 tomorrow. Only a few hours after the managements of CHC and Bristow will announce large pay rises and that they will replace all BS initiatives with the truth, supply proper housing and start to care for their employees more than their profits. It's rumoured that Santa Claus has been sighted in a large sledge pulled by 2 S92s just offshore from QIT and that by popular demand the tooth fairy will now leave a £2 piece for every tooth left under a child's pillow. Ain't life just wun-dah-ful

Nigerian guvmint do somethings decisive???

NEO dear boy....follow the money....follow the money!

Every ahole and his brother is so busy stuffing money into their pockets....they don't have time for anything else.

Nigerian Guvmint Decisive translates to "Get Mine!"

Just as in management I might add! (Said with a wry smile!)

Thumbs up He'll be back!

Nabil is already back with Aero. Stand by for changes as the wheat is sorted from the chaff

Anyone care to comment on the rumoured rift between CHC and ACN?

Have heard that S.A. himself had to go to Nigeria to try and sort it out......ACN would not deal with C.B.

Also there are rumours that the new 225's for Lagos are being delayed/cancelled.......crews have been reassigned.

Crews from the 365 incident have been fired.......

Thumbs down

Rumours of lots of money being owed, partly because of non-payment to ACN. As usual Mani brought back to sort out results of incompetent CHC management who don't understand Nigeria. Nabil now Operations Director having come back from retirement. CHC don't like Koen Head, but the Ibru's do! On RW side, how long will the Squirrell carry on living in Intels luxury while most others live in Areta squalor?

Bristow just as bad. People leaving because of discontent about unfair local allowances, cr*p housing in Eket and Lagos, pay falling behind CHC, antique helicopters, cowardly HR managers leaving base managers to make staff redundant leading to threats against local managers and a possible breakdown in security as badly treated junior staff help militants to get revenge.

Both companies still heard nothing about Agbami because of problems with NNPC and both still assuring employees that they will be the ones getting awarded the contract.

The return of Nabil has the potential to get Aero back to its previous position where it was an attractive proposition for CHC to purchase. Of course, now CHC has also been sold there's a real possibility that it could be broken up and sold off

Lots of instability and uncertainty in both companies out here right now

Question

Caverton's helicopter, BIK on lease from Heliportugal is also still firmly grounded with masking tape over the hole in the tail fin, but the wire embedded in the blade still there for all to see. The aircraft is surrounded by cones. The pilot is still employed (maybe because they can't find anybody else ). However, with CHC sending aircraft away and all the other problems in Nigeria now I wonder if a Nigerian company like Caverton will be able to do any better. I guess that they'd have to pass a proper oil company audit first
