Non Baro-Vnav RNAV App - able to use Vnav?
Hi,
Just to clarify my understanding.
In our manual, if the RNAV appr is a non-baro vnav appr, we are still able to use VNAV for our approach provided there is no need for temp correction. If so, then why is it called non-baro vnav?
My understanding of a baro-vnav appr is there are both lateral and vertical guidance. Non-baro vnav appr means there is lateral guidance but only vertical advisory guidance.

Hi,
the example in my manual was Non-baro nav YMML Rwy 34 but I took a look at my jepp pro, it has now being updated to a BARO-Nav approach.
This is from my manual "Non Baro-VNAV approaches provide lateral guidance and can be flown using VNAV .The minimas are depicted as MDA. However, if Cold Temperature Altitude Correction is required, the usage of VNAV is
prohibited."
