Jeppeson Updates
I have recently taken up a new position and been handed a box of outdated paper Jepps (yes I know it’s not 1980 but hey they pay my salary) with a mountain of updates.
Is there a checklist to go through each airport/ manual so that I can update my manuals efficiently and not have to start at last years updates and do everyone and possibly updating the same airport 2 or 3 times as I work through the pile.?
IE a checklist that says what the update is and what revision letter it comes from?
I’ve searched the jepp website but with no luck.

Each year Jeppesen send out a checklist for the entire manual, but you have to do it at the appropriate time obviously. I would contact them and explain the situation and see if they can send out a one-off for you. The other option is to just fork out for a complete reprint and keep it up to date from now on. All depends on how much you value your time.

Go through the updates and sort the updates into the airports in up date order. Use postit notes with the update number on them.
Then start at the first airport and put the updates through in order but only do that airport. And tick off the update sheet.
once the last update is through repeat for the next airport.
Keep going until you have finished.
Remember to sign off the update sheet for each update individually.
I had a euro set with 24 months of updates to do years ago.
Its not that bad once you get going. Having plenty of space helps a lot.
Getting the list sheet means you have to shuffle through the updates and find the current page from all the updates and then you have to go through them again with this years updates.
lay the updates out for the airport and go through page by page making sure you get any deletions in order.

Exactly!
Perhaps 15 or 20 years ago, before Jepp had electronic charts, they offered a "Q Service" option (for additional cost, of course), where they send you an entire replacement for your approach charts tab every 28 days. They didn't do this for the text pages, or area/enroute charts.
I subscribed to this service for the U.S. coverage for a few years. I did load up the trash bin.

Yeah, I remember the Q service. I think that ended when Boeing bought Jeppesen. Seems like there were a number of changes then which saved money but made things less convenient for the customer.
The Jepps live on the MX20, and the updates are automatically sent to the app on my computer.
All of north america updates to my 520 mb chip every 28 days, and all I have to do is remember to pull it out of my unit once a month and update it.
Just to be safe, it lets me print whatever I want as well.
