Thule BGTL as an ETOPS alternate
I have recently started ETOPS operations across the Atlantic and although not in our part C as an ETOPS alternate it is often the only airfield within an hour.
An ex Qatar colleague told me that they were only allowed to use it if the aircraft was in serious trouble (not for medical emergencies) and even then a stack of precautions (no photos, blinds down, no pax allowed to leave aircraft etc).
I can't see this written anywhere...any info much appreciated.

Been to BGTL once. Nice airport on a good day. Our company used to have a sched run there. I took pics but perhaps not allowed. Didn't seem to be any major restrictions. I'm sure pax will be allowed to leave if the plane will be there for a week or so.

Thanks for the constructive reply JS. I know Air Greenland used to operate into Sondy but had no idea there was a schedule into BGTL. Will approach the company to see if they will put it into part C. Any more info (a/c tpye when you operated much appreciated).
