ICAO Language Proficiency - Level 6 exams
Dear Aviators,
First of all sorry if there is a similar thread around, but I hope it's good for all of us to hear about current situations (and my problem is kinda specific).
We all know about the basic ICAO ELP things: You go on a checkride, default thing is you will get your native language level 6 issued with the licence. (At least it is the normal case.)
Here comes the next part: for non-native English speakers, and living elsewhere in Europe, one must attend a separate language exam. We know that in most countries, examiners are strict about issuing higher levels, at some places it is even impossible to get a result better than Level 4. (In my country I heard about very good English speakers being kicked out with Level 2-3...)
Therefore my question is: Are there any opportunities in the UK/IRE to sit a separate English exam - and I mean places where they are likely to issue 5&6 ? What is the method for this (authority, documentation, etc), if I don't want to fly a checkride there and just spend 1-2 days with this while I'm there?
(I also heard rumours about a friend, who met a nice man in an English pub, and as soon as it turned out that he was an examiner, he issued a Level 6 for him. Should've been a great night out

So, I would be glad to read any solutions - not just going to the UK and sit an exam - but specific places which are good for doing this; or even other solutions which I don't even know.
I know a lot of people who got Level 6s for not even a satisfying English knowledge...how they do it? (Again, PMs are welcome)

To make it clear once again: I own an EASA licence, I need a separate Language proficiency result which can be implemented into my licence at my local authority. Can struggle with a Level 4 exam here, definitely achievable, but who the hell want to retest every x years..

Move to France, I heard a rumor that all French ATC controllers and all pilots at Air France received automatic Level 6 since the are ooooo good in English.
But in all seriousness I did a typerating in the UK (CAE) and got level 6 after my check ride. However this was in the LPC beginning, not sure if you still can get this.

As far as I understood, only the country issuing your license is allowed to put entries in it, correct? So, if you hold a Hungarian license, you have to pass a Hungarian English Proficiency test, correct? Wasn't this the reason why some countries don't offer LP6 exams, because they have no accredited LP6 examiner? There are some exams with mutual agreements between countries, but last time I looked at it, is was almost impossible to say which country does accept which countries exams - you have to check your examiner first.
A remark to the exams. LP 4 and 5 are quite similar (and in many countries a total waste of time for the sake of being able to speak and understand english), with only a few nasty parameters different, while LP6 is something where you are in real conversation. There are even certain places where level 4 and 5 exams can only be thought of the brutal revenge of someone purely obsessed with his image. I found LP6 much nicer, because it is from and for the real world and not synthetic [censored].
Go, try to find a Hungarian level 6 examiner, can't be much of them.

My homecountry CAA has a list of approved ELP examiners, from who they'd accept verifications.
What if you arranged beforehand to undertake the exam at a checking organization abroad, from who Hungarian CAA will accept the results? The logic being: if orgaization X is accredited examiner for i.e. German CAA, would HCAA be willing to accept their assesment of your language competence to issue the ELP onto the licence?

I have a serious problem and is that spain won't issue my PPL unless I don't have a language profficiency test. Currently I am in the UK and I was about to do the T.E.A. test but I see that it isn't recognized from ICAO, so why are they saying that they can provide me with the ICAO level 6?
An ex colleague presented himself at the UK CAA for an ELP check although raised in England he was born oversees; he sat down and was asked his name, current type and his method of transport to LGW. That was it thank you Capt **** I'll sort out the paperwork, at least as a TRE conducting a check we spent a few hours observing them speaking and using spoken English.
