EASA conversion question

Hello,

I have a few questions about the conversion process from FAA to EASA. Here is my background:

Currently flying the E175/190 in the US with an FAA ATP and PIC Type Rating and more than 500 hours on type. Prior to flying in the US, I was flying in the UK with a frozen ATPL issued by the UK.

I have a current Class One medical and I m looking at getting back to Europe and hopefully work there again.

I'm a little confused with the new EASA way of doing things! My UK licence had to be re issued in 2013 but I never did since I was already in the US with no plans to return to Europe.

What would be the best way to get my EASA licence back? Would you recommend to take a LST on my current type (E175) and apply for an EASA ATPL?

Thanks
