Air Ambulance Operations

Please can someone direct me to EASA regulations regarding Air Ambulance operations, or medevac flights. I have searched without luck using the usual words.

I want to prepare a manual of procedures.

Amazing that I cannot get a reference to EU-OPS equivalent of the South African Part 138 Air Ambulance Operations.

What used to be EU-OPS is now covered in Commission Regulation(EU) No 965/2012 of 5 October 2012 laying down technical requirements and administrative procedures related to air operations pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 216/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council. Note that most Member States have decided not to apply Annexes I to V until 28 October 2014.

My pleasure Whenwe. Please don't forget that EU-OPS, respectively the Air Operations Regulation, apply to all commercial operations. There may be additional national rules governing air ambulance operations. This is why I believe there isn't an equivalent to your South African Part 138 on a European level. Member States may have their own rules.

Will do.

Gabon follows EU-OPS and I am trying to anticipate their comment when we approach them.

Thanks again
