Modelling & Forecasting Airport Passenger Numbers?

Hi,

I am wondering how airports model and forecast passenger numbers from an operational perspective, i.e. in order to have sufficient staffing at security, immigration etc.

I understand it is quite a technical question but I would welcome any input, particularly from those who work in this field or have experience on it.

Thank You
