Working in the industry I have been fortunate enough to take many jump seat rides over the years ranging from Viscounts, 1-11's to Boeings and Airbuses of all types. I think that with many young people and young aviators a single cockpit visit seals their ambitions of a piloting career. It has been a long while and I will never forget the absolute buzz the whole thing is. In this day and age the closest young people get to the real experience are computer games and videos of cockpit action.

When the process of passemger screening and profiling is polished off it would be nice to see that privilege return in some limited way someday

*"sciolist"... Noun, archaic. "a person who pretends to be knowledgeable and well informed".
