Can anybody help me please???

Hello,
I am after a friendly person who would not mind helping a wannabe ATC.My name is Joshua, I spent a day at The Hilton (Tower bridge) performing tests today, I wil not know if I was successful for around 15 working days and from there I will have more interviews to see if I am suitable for the job. I was hoping in the meantime to see if it is possible to organise spending a short bit of time at a control centre, just to see what actually happens and the general atmosphere(anything from 20 minutes to a couple of hours-whatever is suitable and possible really). Please if anybody could respond- even if its just to say it wont be possible,it would be greatly appreciated. Ideally(due to lacation) Heathrow Tower or West Drayton would be best but I would be happy to travel if neccessary.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks for any response,
Josh

Joshuas. West Drayton is empty - the control centre moved to Swanwick on the south coast sometime ago (you'd better know this for your interviews). Heathrow Tower is very difficult due to its location and security.

You would be far better posting this sort of question in the ATC Forum where it's more likely to be seen.

Best of luck...

very unlikely for you to get into heathrow or even swanwick as you need a security pass and paperwork sorted. your best bet is try airfields around you which are smaller but still have controllers and not just radio rooms.

somewhere like southend, cambridge or manston may be able to help you. but as the other post said, throw the question into the ATC room and see if anyone in there is in a good mood!

Swanwick had a few open days recently and all they wanted was the reg of the vehicle you were going in - ring and ask them you never know!
