Bringing this thread back to life.... I started my ATPL theory in Sep 2019, had just finished Mod 1 when this article came out in Nov 2020. Glad I ignored the contents of this article, finished ATPL theory in 2022, CPL ME IR in 2023, job in 2024.

That's reassuring thanks for your honest input. How long did it take you to finish all your training from Ppl to CPL ME IR? And what was your rough estimate cost if you don't mind me asking. Reason is I'm 34 now with 6 years left until I would receive an armed forces pension from the day I leave. So I'm wondering if 6 years is too long as I know for the ATPLs there's a time frame to complete them all and revalidates if say I finished the training well before I planned to leave.

I started April 2020, modular route and very similar timescales. Same outcome 😜
