Question about switching integrated schools
If somebody decides to switch from one integrated school to another integrated school, assuming you already acquired your atpl theory at the first school. Do you have to re-do your theory by law, or is this purely dependant on what the school wants?

Don't take my word for it, but as far as I'm aware it's the decision of the CAA, or authority of the state you're in.
If the ATPL theory has been complete I can't see why you would need to do them again.
There are many modular schools that take on students just for CPL/ME/IR who have already done their ATPLs elsewhere. However, once you've signed up to an integrated course, you can't just swap onto another one.
We had a few students at my school who swapped from Integrated to Modular. The decision had to go through the CAA to be approved. I assume the school itself must also be aware and would have a person responsible for dealing with such issues.

By application to the authority for Integrated to Integrated.
Have had a number transfer to the company I work for.
Modular is also an option but will need to gain a PPL.
Exams are passed, so just the 18 month time limit for license issue.

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to respond.
From what I can understand is that it is possible to switch from one integrated school to the other, without having to do your atpl theory. Can somebody verify this one last time?

I can verify that. But is the CAA who have the last word.
I must also say that it`s not recommended to switch schools on an intergrated course. If you are not 100% sure about the quality of the school you should follow the modular path.

The CAA is the legal authority, the FTO (school) is the training provider.
The FTO prepare you for the exams. The CAA host, mark and validate the results of your exams. Once you have sat and passed your ATPL exams, they are done and the results are held by the CAA. You can't redo them; because you don't need to!
Whether or not you can join another integrated course is nothing to do with the CAA; they are there to facilitate the issuance of licences and ratings to ICAO/national standards.
To answer your question, it's down to the relevant school and their policy, though if you have already completed your ATPLs I'd imagine most FTOs would want to steer you in the direction of the modular route.

If you want to choose the modular route you must be a PPL holder first and then start atpl theory. If the student started intergrated course and passed atpl theory cannot join a modular course with the atpl theory validate.

switching schools is not something I wanted to do, because it would probably look bad on my CV, or airlines might ask me to justify my reasoning on doing so.
The reason why I am switching is because my current school failed to deliver some very important promises. And I would rather cut my losses as soon as possible instead of throwing more money into the garbage. Especially if we're talking about six figures here...
