EASA CPL(A)IR/SE from a CPL(H) ( IR? )

Hi folks,

This is a question for you, Licensing experts

I would like to " quickly " pass the EASA PART-FCL CPL(A)/IR-SE.

What I have : 400 HRS TT

CPL(H) : 200HRS
PPL(A) : 200HRS ( including 100+ PIC )

I'm also not far from the IR-H ( still 10.0 min. to be presented to the exam )

So my concerns are regarding the fastest and cheapest way to have a CPL(A)/IR-SE.

I read that " transitioning " from a CPL(A) > (H ) gives you 40 HRS of credit, but nothing in the opposite direction ?

Also, other factors out of the equation, should I finish the IR-H first to have bigger reductions in requirements for the CPL(A)/IR-SE ?

Sorry, I've been studying the AIRCREW back and forth lately, but can't get any solid answers.

I'm only looking for facts, so please no advices or personnal opinions about whether such qualification is useful or not, that's another subject but not this thread's one

Why a single engine IR? You have enough hours for a CPL (A) you just need to do the 25 hour course (15 if you hold an IR). To go from one IR to another is a 10 hour course, so in your case, an IR (H) holder could do a 10h IR course then a 15h CPL short course. I'd definitely recommend doing the 10 hours IR training in a multi as well

Why a Single Engine IR ? Because I do not want to be an airline pilot later on and my requirements doesn't need this. Also for evident financial reasons.

Ok so I may consider finishing the IR ME part of my CPL(H) to benefits the 10.0 HRS reduction ... but please take a look below : Rotary wings, especially twin turbines, are just insanely expensive.

If I go for CPL(A)-IR SE as an IR(H) holder :

10 x 2000 = 20 000 to hold the IR(H)
15 x 300 = 4500 for the CPL(A)
10 x 300 = 3000 for the IR(A)

TOTAL = 27 500

If I go for just the CPL(H) as a Tourist ( lol, at least without the mighty IR... )

25 x 300 = 7500
15 x 300 =4500

TOTAL = 12 000 ...

It's a no brainer the 2nd solution may be the easiest, fastest and cheapest, damn, why can't we do all our IR on the FNPT II ? Ahah

But so my current IR training experience and investments will be wasted ... I don't know the maximum duration of interruption of the IR course ? 2 or 5 years ?

I do not now to which extent my already done 40 FNPT II HRS and 5.0 IR Cross Country Multi Engine Heli would be credited to lower the CPL(A)-IR SE requirements...

Not so fast... If you HOLD an IR(H) - you can get the IR(A) in 10 hours.
If you don't - you'll need to do a full course at an ATO which for SEIR will be 35sim/15sep=50 hours. It's unlikely that they'll credit your FNPT2 time as it's (a) configured as a helicopter, and (b) not their sim on their course. You may have more luck crediting if you do a CBIR (which is only 40 hours anyway.)

Hey yeah for sure !

It's getting a lil' bit clearer now you explained this, and after getting in touch with the DGAC and an ATO. They also told me about that CB IR I've never heard before ...

Do any of you did this rating, the CBIR, that in theory brings the IR-SE or IR-ME stample on your CPL paper ? I'm a bit suspicious as I've been told it's recognized as a true " genuine " IR-SE or IR-ME by recruiting companies ? Isn't it " black listed ", or looked as a downgraded IR that is useless ?
