Which European flight schools and I need your help/advice.

First post here guys and thank you in advance to those who wish to give their experience/comment on this topic.

I am half ways through my ATPLs and really torn to where to end up to do my CPL MEIR. I will say I am not flush with cash so this is a factor. For some, you on here I know for the fact they'd have the attitude that "if you don't have the cash, don't be a pilot." However I have worked hard for this gaining an aviation management degree and tried to build up the funds. I was planning to go to BARTOLINI in Poland however I am getting cold feet. I talked to many who have come and gone from this place. 99% of them are happy but it's their reputation among others is the big thing for me. I personally feel as I do my ATPLs full time in a "established" flight school that I am ashamed to say, "I am doing the rest of my training in Poland."

This flight school that I'm currently at HAD a pilot that did his training in Poland and did his FI course where I am currently studying and they took him on. Apparently he was very hard to deal with and I know for a fact he was recommending BARTOLINI and obviously they got rid of him. This school has now turned round to us and said; "we had to get rid of him as his IR and flying in general were poor" in efforts to turn modular students away from BARTOLINI. In a way it's working as I'm getting the cold feet and don't know where to go.

In addition, it has turned me away from the school I'm currently at. I don't trust a word they say.

Straight up with you guys that I can't afford OXFORD, I can't afford JEREZ. Simples. I have been looking into a few schools in Spain but honestly torn at the minute of where a modular guy should go. I have got this far and just want to make the right move. Do I go to a place in the back end of Spain that's not well established? Do I go to a school who apparently has a reputation. Your feedback is valuable.

Any guys able to help? Constructive comments would be appreciated
Thanks Again.

Try Baltic Aviation Academy, though it might be short day till they stop flying this year due to weather, but you should inquire then.

It is a friendly priced school , but dont expect to much help in finding a job. You are on your own, but school is good.

Bartolini has a good reputation. What you mean is does it have a good reputation in the UK....well if you ask a UK ATO then they'll probably give you the line that UK schools are great and UK training is better then in the US or on the continent. BUT remember both CTC and Oxford have some parts of there training abroad. I went to Bartolini - nearly everyone I know has a job flying. You could go to CTC and MAY get put forward for a chance with Easyjet, same for Oxford etc. However, many do not!!! Do what's best for you and your circumstance. Visit schools, talk to people and if you can go to recruitment open days and see what the recruitment teams have to say. I guarantee Easyjet will tell you something very different to say Ryanair or Jet2.

The truth is that not many places in EU like Bartolini. Why is that?

Well first of all, Bartolini are something like 40-50% cheaper then most of the schools around, therefore local schools are losing out on alot of business and naturally they all bad mouth them, ( poor training, etc, don't fly G1000 as you wont be able to fly steam gauges, etc) Surely because when you finish your training you will want to fly an old steam seneca for living

Why so much talk about Bartolini?
Bartolini have a great employment placement record, probably more then most of the schools, (unless you compare them with sponsored cadetship schools)
Check out their FB FlyinPoland page.
I alone know of probably 15 guys that are now in the airlines, and only came out of Bartolini probably some 12months ago or less.

As for myself, speaking from experience, as I was there to finish my training.
I originally started my CPL in a well established local school ( wont be naming anyone as I don't want to badmouth) but half way trough my training I switched to Bartolini as I felt I wasn't learning enough and my progress was almost standstill for a guy that had 24/7 availability.

After being in Poland, I was simply amazed with the quality of training. I learned alot, plus being training by current airline guys is a big bonus.
Fair enough, the school is busy, they average around 12,000+ fleet time hours annually, but if you put the work in they get you out in less then two months as agreed.

And yeah, Lodz is a great place to be

HI,
Try F-Air in Czech Republic ! I'm a belgian pilot who did PPL, SE/IR in Belgium and then for financial reasons went to F-Air. They are much cheaper, very friendly, professional and they use all new aircrafts (TECNAM).

If you need some more advice, feel free to contact me.

Good luck !

Bartolini is a safe bet, though in one month they've lost three valuable instructors to the airlines.
If that flight instructor's skills were poor, why did they hire him in the first place?

Bartolini

Well, I can recommend Bartolini. I had a great time gaining my IR and then my CPL. I commuted from London and completed the training when convenient, they couldn't have been more accommodating. The level of instruction was high, I learnt a lot! Yes, the are busy, but that's because they are a good school. They have a good fleet, I never suffered from a tech issue. The price is still good, even since sterling dropped. I have also revalidated my IR and MEP each year with Bartolini, with no isssue. Simply, a no fuss school, good prices, good fleet, good instruction and Lodz is a vibrant place to be.
