Question about FAA Books

1. Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge
2. Airplane flying Handbook
3. Instrument Flying Handbook
4. Instrument Procedures Handbook

Are they suitable for Euro pilots? Can I study by these books for EASA PPL/CPL?

My flight school uses book #1 for PPL theory in distance learning, with the differences being explained in the classroom. I studied from it and I think that overall it was fine, I even bought a hard copy. I also have a hard copy of the Jeppesen PPL book, but I used the FAA one as a primary source of studying. Easy to read. I have not used book #2, which focuses on the practical aspect of flying. I checked it and my feedback is the same as for book #1.
Also, my flight school suggest a general reading of the two books for IR training and I guess they are written the same and I might as well buy hard copies of it.

If you want to buy one book give a look at EASA Private Pilot Studies and contact the author (paco). I am using his book for ATPL and so far so good. All very concise and straight to the point, which is a plus when English is not your first language – as in my case.

For ATPL you need ATPL manuals and sign up to a ground school. They will provide you with the manuals.
