Cheap simulator in Europe for IFR skills?

Hello,

Anyone knows a decent simulator for IFR skills training? Donīt need to be certified, I donīt really care about logging hours, just need to get my skills up to level.

Try contacting Billins Air Services at Cranfield, England - they have a reasonable IFR sim they use in - house, and I'm sure could do you a deal.

Newcastle Airfield (EINC), Ireland, not too far from Dublin, has a Redbird FMX, full motion sim, 1h including an instructor is 50eur. I don't think you'll find anything cheaper than that

Well, I've been using Microsoft flight sim and it serves the purpose well (for me). All you need besides the program is a joystick, if you want to take it to the next level you can buy a yoke, throttle and paddles (Saitek) all for the cost of a single IFR flight lesson in a real plane. Advantage you can use it over and over again at the convenience of your home, literally any airport (approach) in the world is at your fingertips, no need to travel, saves a lot of time and money.

Free approach charts and additional info can be found at the following link: https://www.vatsim.net/

there's a Youtube FREE training course and download the simulator on your PC (if just for skill as mentioned ) and then do 5 or 10 hours on actual simulator .
Good luck .

I used Microsoft Flight Sim X (Ģ5 used copy from eBay) with a Ģ15 joystick.

Spent a number of hours on it before my first IR renewal, and again before my sim check for my first airline interview. Passed both without a problem.

It might not be the same for everyone, but in my opinion a "real" sim is not worth the extra time and money.

Guys, author asked about CHEAP sim)) It's definitely not in UK nor Norway.
Try to find it somewhere in East Europe. Czech Republic for example.
