options for expat rookie

Hey everyone,

Where in the world is the easiest place for an FAA CPL holder with 235 TT to get a job? Outside his country, i mean?

Any thoughts and suggestions welcome.

Thank you.

P.S. By job i don't mean starbucks, obviously.

Well, usually as a low time rookie one stands the "best" chances of getting the foot into the business in his home country. But it appears that you're a Russian citizen with a FAA license, which would mean that you'd either need to convert your FAA license into the respective Russian license (or maybe EASA?). Alternatively, in order to get competitive on the international market you need to build some time. But with 235tt only possibilities are pretty limited, "best chances" might be trying to get into bush flying, sightseeing flights, island hopping etc. Or go and get your FAA CFI that's usually the best way to built some time, but on the other hand there are only a few flight schools in the US which can issue a work visa for non US-citizens and it's limited for a certain period of time only. Good luck!

Yes, but this isn't the problem right now. If it was, i could restrain my ambition, select a lower profile job, like bush flying somewhere in siberia. But the market is heavily over flooded, economy is in a ditch, and it'll take years for all this to recover — i'd spend those years flying some old cessna for food, rather than sitting on the fence home.

This is where i was going to: where? Can you give me specific places?

Or a hint how to look for them?

Susi air recently set the bar at 750tt. I know about a few places in Africa. Maybe there are places in Latin America or any other country, that would let me in for employment purpose?

Are there still places that will give you a job on "nobody wants to go there" grounds?

Try Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania.

Bush flying all the way.
