B737-400 Training & Sim in Europe ?
All,
I am looking for a training center for an Initial TR (inc. Ground School) on a B737-400 (w CFM engines), preferably in Europe.
I have heard of Brussels, Prague...
What is your take on these schools and do you happen to know other potential centers ?

I rather go to Air BAltic in Riga, Latvia and
Never in Baltic Aviation Academy, Vilnius, Lithuania..
Leonard ask, check Air Baltic web site.....
And are you going to enroll in pay2fly in Enter air(poland) ?....hope you have an idea...

Thanks a lot for your valuable inputs.
I am not very familiar with the Boeing A/C's... (hence my comment reg the CFM engines, sorry ...)
It will be the "classic" avionics.
After checking, it seems that there is no more "classic" Sim in Brussels...
And No, I am NOT going to enroll in such a scheme as pay to fly....
And Yes my company will pay for it....

If the company is paying for it then they will already have the details and you can just sit back and go to whatever sim they are willing to pay for.
The UK has 5-6 Classic sims alone.

Anyway in Germany at Berlin FTO they have some 737 CL, at Air baltic RIga, and BAA Vilnius to stay close
in these area.

To be clear to everyone:
I am not flying in an airline, but I am a Test Pilot for an Aircraft and Avionics/Weapons Systems manufacturer.
The B737 is our Flying Test Bed and I will get qualified on it.
It is obviously a very small structure and we do not send our pilots systematically to the same training center.
We sent pilots to PanAm academy in Florida in the past, to Brussels and to Prague more recently and we always look for the best ROI, i.e. reasonably cheap if possible but good quality training.....
Hope this sheds a clearer light on my request.

Cheap and quality cannot be in the same sentence most of the time. BAA TR courses are cheap and this is reflected on the quality of their courses.
There's a good TRTO in Amsterdam which I can't remind the name of and there's Cockpit4U in Berlin.

On top of the foreign validation, we are trying to add an FAA checkride but all the TRTO's that we have approached so far in Europe do NOT provide this.
And bringing an FAA TRE from the US might be VERY expensive and difficult (the Sim Box needs to be approved as well, for example, correct ?).
Any valuable idea please ?

The FAA only issue initial TR in the states but then you can get it renewed/revalidated by a freelance TRE/Check airman.
Boeing Training in the UK used to have a in house airman but he has now retired so I have heard.
My suggestion is to do the TR in the US as it will only cost you around $8000 and no base training required. But good luck flying in EU land if you wish to fly on an EU registered aircraft.
