How to get my EASA Licence back?
Hello everybody,
Short instant to my sticky situation,
I completed my JAR CPL/ME/IR back in 2012 in the UK and received a shiny UK CPL licence. Then I got my first Airline job and completed my 737 type rating in Turkey and went back to endorse my TR to my UK licence but the CAA didn't recognised the Type rating because Turkey hadn't complied with the EASA regulations and had to convert my licence to a Turkish DCGA licence. Now I'm about to do my ATPL check but before I do that I want to convert my licence back to the UK! Anyone can advise me please? Also I no longer have a EASA Medical... Will I also need to get my EASA medical renewed aswell?

Hello
Your license/rating will always "follow" your medical.
If you want UK licenses you will need a UK medical so you need to transfer your medical records from Turkey to UK CAA.
Start with the the application of tranfering state of license issue (SOLI)
http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/SRG1136Issue08.pdf
But UK CAA needs to have received your medical details before they receive your license/rating details otherwise they just going to reject the application.
So you have to speak with the Turkish Aviation Authority and tell them to send your medical record to the UK CAA
Been there, done that. It can be a long drawn process transferring license/medical details between two states despite it is just simple paperwork.
Best of luck

Since the introduction of EASA, you cannot transfer your medical records and licence from Turkey to an EASA state as Turkey is not a member of EASA so what Marchisio stated is not an option anymore.
You stated you converted to a DGCA license - this isn't the same as loosing your UK licence - you should have had both at the same time a UK (JAA/EASA) and a DGCA.
Your ATPL skills test in Turkey will not be recognised unless it is an EASA examiner on an EASA approved simulator - remember Turkey is not part of EASA so Turkish approved does not count!

Yes your right I still have my old UK JAA Licence with only a SEP Vaild now.. but how am I going to endorse my type rating from the Turkish back to the UK.. Plus if I do get my TR endorsed does that mean I have to maintain two licences at the same time? I called the CAA several times but they are useless with providing straight answers :@

If you have over 500 hours on type you can just do a UK LPC with a British TRE, that will revalidate both your type and your licence. I did this last year, having not flown in the UK for 4 years.

hi Guys. Probably too late an answer, but there is a UK EASA TRE in IST and AYT, also an EASA sim in each city. I have used both with that TRE a few weks ago.
PM me if contact is needed.
