About Compass Test,Reasoning Test and Aptitude Test

Hello,

Does anyone need the software or program for practicing the compass, reasoning and aptitude test?

I know that the Skytest and latest pilot job have some similar function.

However, I would like to know that is there any professional website or software for training those test specifically for Cathay Pacific, Qantas, CTC, OAA, or even DragonAir......

Btw, my first choice is to find the software for Cathay Pacific and DragonAir.

Please give me some advice and suggestions. I don't mind its free or need to pay!

Thanks a lot

My first thoughts are, if you need to find the software and practice the simple things that should be coming naturally to you, then you probably are in the wrong field because its not going to get any easier.

The compass/aptitude tests are to see if you have the basic abilities needed to progress. Maths and physics, short term memory, hand-eye co-ordination, multitasking, follow instructions. Trying to cheat their program's by practicing them will only do you harm because you haven't really learn the skills they are looking for.

As for getting hold of their software, they are all done in house so I doubt that they are available online or that someone has it for sale.

Try SkyTest or go to ATTC website and you get some pretty useful info about these tests.

Utter cr*ap. Practice as much as you can in preparation for any of these sort of tests and I would recommend having a look at the EPST site where you'll find examples of what to expect with the Compass battery. Refresh you memory with respect to GCSE/High School Level maths and physics - emphasis is placed on mental arithmetic and simple problem solving whilst multi-tasking, and get copies of personality and basic cognitive reasoning type books for examples of the style of questions you may see at interview. I hear COAA is ditching Compass for CASS - if this is the case then what you have practiced for Compass may be the opposite of what you find on the day. Good Luck!

Thank you very much for all the suggestions!

I think I will consider about the "CockpitWeb" and "Skytest"!
ATTC is seem to offer some classroom base course with Skytest software, however I cannot take any classroom course in Euro.......

BTW, the cost of those two software are significantly different. Is there any different feature, feedback and comment for using SkyTest or CockpitWeb? or even comparing some other things such as email support etc....
Which one is better and more suitable especially for Cathay Pacific and DragonAir!

BTW, Is there any software or program to design specifically for Cathay Pacific and DragonAir Compass/Aptitude test? (Or All the test and software are similar with all the FTO and Airline??)

I know that Latestpilotjobs have a Subscribe specifically for Cathay Pacific, is it good? Any Comment?

Any new ideas and suggestions?

Personally, I think I will go for the SkyTest because it is suitable for my situation and seems very professional. And the staff of SkyTest seems to be very positive and helpful.

And the price is very reasonable comparing with CockpitWeb and Aero pedia.

I may order 1-2softwares and books from Skytest and try latestpilotjob for 1-3 months.

Pilot Tests

Skytest is good - it doesn't mean that the others aren't good. It's quite comprehensive, covers quite a few topics, and is not expensive. However, the tests you might encounter at assessment time could be different, but what the software like Skytest do for you is that they sharpen your mind, memory and your reaction time, and train your hand, eye, foot coordination. That said, if you don't have the aptitude, you can do all the tests in the world but you won't be much wiser in the end. Good luck

Skytest - The Brain Enhancer

Skytest is very good. Been playing with it for a couple of years. I think it has completely rewired my brain, really. Your performance is significantly improved through prolonged exposure. In the beginning my percentages were not good at all. It was a shock to the system, a real eye opener. But after repeated use your reaction times are slashed in every area. You begin to average up to 90% even in your weakest areas (level 3- most difficult). Not sure if you are familiar with the dice folding test, but it is tricky. I score 100% far too often now. Practice makes perfect.

You answer questions instinctively, after a point, and correctly. Your whole thought process is enhanced, cognition is accelerated. You start appreciating the level of accuracy it expects from you. Confidence levels go through the roof. I certainly am not the same guy before purchasing Skytest. I can compete against the best of them now.

Also, that Aero-Pedia that Ray mentioned looks quite good. I think I will sign up to the Aptitude Test Prep. I'm quite curious about that one.

Skytest

I am preparing for my Stage 1 interview with CX, and I am wondering if there is a way to get skytest for free.

There is no way to get SkyTest for free unfortunately, have you tried LatestPilotJobs, or even better - PAT | PilotAptitudeTest.com - Practise for COMPASS Tests and PILAPT Tests?

Both are cheaper alternatives to SkyTest, and I'd say PilotAptitudeTest.com blows both of the others clean out of the water. Failing that, check your local pilot supply shop, there are books specifically written on passing CX assessments.

Hi everyone,

I know it is a old topic but I have few question about compass test. I have a test in 3 weeks time and I have no ideas about that test.
1) On the EPST website there is some "ATPL Theorical question on jet aircraft and operation". Is that mean you have to revise all you ATPL ... or just on jet A/C? Do you know which data base they are using (Bristol, JAA

2) Any idea how to work on the verbal reasoning? I am not a english speaker.

3) how can I train myself to get better in Math and physic?

Thanks for for the reply
