Hi

I paid my deposit and i got my I20 as well. But there is a small mistake in my I20 (Its my fault). I have asked them to amend my I20,
Their communication is bit slow, and u can't get hold of anyone over the phone.

Almost there!

Hello guys, this is my first post here on PPRuNe and I only registered today. I've been reading the threads in here for quite a while and with some advice for a friend of mine that passed by EFT last year to check facilities, accomodation, equipment, aircraft, etc.. I decided to register and being an APP Cadet on the program starting next january 2nd. Altough I'm not getting back at this point, I'd like to have a little more details on the exact actual situation of the academy. Heard nice and less nice thing about them, but the overall met my expectations (at least what its written!). I'll be leaving Portugal on December 30th on my way to EWR and then I'll pick up a connection flight to PBI where I'll have someone from the school picking me up.

So far, and for the ones that are thinking about joining the academy too, I can say that I got no big complaints to make otherwise I wouldn't be joining. Sometimes they took a little more than normal to answer my e-mails, sometimes you have to call and remember them of any pending answer you asked for a week before, but overall it seems pretty nice so far.

Basically I'd just like to find someone here that is currently studying at EFT, even better if it's an APP cadet like I'm gonna be, someone that can give my some advice with real knowledge of how things roll at EFT right now.

Also, I'll be happy to help you out with what I can at the moment or in further phases of my pilot course

European Flight Training EFT? (2011 merged)

I am in the APP program. Its a fantastic school but with very high standards. Half of my class have met standards and the other half are struggling.
Came here in November and just finishing my EASA & FAA ppl this week. PM me for any questions

I certainly will. Thanks a lot, I'm also planning to write some kind of academy review for other people that may be thinking about starting as APP Cadets too, as soon as I get there and get to know EFT a little more.

Yeah but I would advise people not to take your word for it. There's 9 of us on our course. Each one of us has different opinions. My advice to anyone is that as this is a huge decision; Spend some money and go and visit the schools first.
It's a very small expenditure considering your going to lay down extremely large sums to one of these schools

Is anyone currently studying the APP at European Flight Training ? How do you rate the school ? Is the price worth it ? Are the instructors qualified enough to teach the 14 EASA ATPL subjects..? they have stated in the website that the EASA IR conversion is not included in the APP course... how much time does it take in the UK and how much does it approximately cost ?
Concerning the job opportunities after graduation from this school I just got an email from them stating that it's between 20-30 %.

I did my PPL with EFT a few years back and they were fantastic. I had the luxury of visiting a few schools whilst on holiday and EFT were far better than the other FTO's I managed to see.

I would suggest you do your research thoroughly and don't be put off by some of the negative posts on here. You tend to find that there are some seriously bitter individuals on PPRuNe.

The visa process etc is a bit of a ball ache but as long as you read the small print and do your prep you can't go too far wrong.

You get out of it what you put in so make sure you are thorough in your research and consider all responses, not just the bitter and twisted opinions. My PPL was completed in 20 days in minimum hours and under budget. Wouldn't have been possible without the help of my instructors, fellow pupils and my own hard work.

I have the same question as on the first post on this page about the deposit. I would like to book a course with EFT but if I don't get a visa on time or other things can happen, and I would need to change the start date to later one. Do I have to pay one more deposit? Does anybody know that?
