Cessna Flight Centers

Hello everybody!

Does anybody out there know if there is anything special about Flight schools that are 'cessna flight centers'.

Are they in any way better than other schools?

Also, would anybody recommend computer based instruction(CBI) for ground school ?

I went to both a cessna center and a non cessna center. They both had Cessnas and both had other airplanes that werenīt Cessnas. I didnīt really see a difference except that the Cessna center used a syllabus and computer based training heavily involving the Cessna. The non cessna center didnīt use computer based training and the syllabus was a Jeppesen syllabus. I did my first solo at the Cessna Flight Center location and I received a letter from Cessna which I framed and put on my wall, hehe. CBT is alright if you are motivated and learn easily. The king schools CBT were used at the flying school where I did most of my training, and the jokes were terrible in the videos but they explain everything really well.

Thank you very much for the detailed information.

I once wrote to Cessna when i found out about the CPC's as the school i was considering then; i still am actually is one(Monarch Air in Addison , Texas).
They recommended the school saying their facilities and aircraft were always in excellent condition and would recommend it.

I decided to write to them because i couldn't find any forum that had any information about the school. It seemed to be unknown by most people. The reply from Cessna made me decide to keep the school on my list but it also made me suspicious, after all it is one of THEIR pilot centers

Your responses have been very helpful.

Would either of you recommend Flight Safety or is it just 'all about the image' and any other good school would serve just as well?

Okay. I will do that. Thanks.

I have been talking to some pilots over here and they suggest an FAA certificate and also most of the airlines here sponsor their cadets to train in either the United States or South Africa.
