MCC - Does Type Matter

I am about to do my MCC, but do airlines really want you to do it on Jet Type aircraft!? Or is it just a certificate/qualification they want to see completed regardless?

It is highly irrelevant what type you do it on, all the airlines want to see is the certificate.

On the other hand, you might want to be a little smart about it, for instance, I did my MCC on a Saab340. My sim check with the airline I am with was on a Saab340.
Suffice to say the 25hrs (yes they gave us extra) I had in the sim helped considerably when it came to the sim check. I targeted this particular airline, did some research, then booked the MCC. It might not happen that way for you, I guess I just got lucky.

very valid point I think. A lot of people asked about the type and some reply that the type doesn't matter. In large respect, it doesn't however, like mentioned, it would help to get you comfortable in the cockpit. I did mine in a 737 and did the sim assessment in a 737NG. I knew how the plane reacts and how it flew so had the advantage that I can anticipate it's behavior. Something I would love to have with women
