Bought my first plane - G-BIRT
Hi,
I am 25 years old and in the process of doing my PPL and wanted to buy a plane ready to go for when I pass instead of having to pay hourly to hire a plane. I found a lovely Robin R1180TD for sale online (G-BIRT), the backstory to this plane is what sold it for me, the owner before me had it since new, flew to America 5 times in it, flew around Africa twice and also took it to Australia. What is also cool is I found the previous owners online photo album of his adventures with G-BIRT all the way back in 1985 when the place was only 3 years old. It's currently have its Annual Service done along with a new undercarraige as they were condemned, it also had a new engine put in not long ago with only 250 hours on it. But I am super excited for it to be ready and delivered to me to my local airfield and give the interior some love as it's definitely in need of some love.
If anyone has ever come across G-BIRT in their lives I would love to hear your stories of the plane!

An Aiglon
My brother had a share in one based out if Rochester G-BJVV about 25 years ago.
It used to do trips down to Spain and further afield.
Fast planes, got to be careful on the use of trim to slow it, runs out of up for the flare.
I bought him G8JVV as a number plate for his custom Brabus Smart car.
Not sure where they are now.

2015 Eclipse Stornoway
I’m pretty sure I saw G-BIRT and talked to the former Owner when we were both at Stornoway on March 20 2015 prior to flying during the Total Solar Eclipse.
Congratulations on acquiring your own Aircraft. I hope you have many years of enjoyment. I know I did when I got mine in 1993 and I always say to people that it is the best thing I ever did.
