If does not have to be Kent

Thurrock is by big hotel in Orsett.

Earls Colne up by Colchester/Braintree has the Essex hotel oess than 100m, country club and golf.Think this one fits perfectly.

What is it going to be used for? Nayland not any sort of good idea.

Ah, but then he'd have to walk - at least to the edge of the field....

Fly into a decent airfield and some nice old boy in a Willys Jeep'll come along and drive you to the VIP area,,

We're looking at running an event from France to Goodwood next May - but trying to do it with 'no taxis'. So, doing what the rotary boys do all the time, but with planes.

Not easy, but then that's kind of the point!

I had a bit of a browse on Google Maps. Type in hotel, zoom in on the markers, and pick a field. Didn't see much, unless you want to look at a couple of golf courses, but they might not be that flat or obstruction free.

Does it have to be Kent?

Abbeville? I haven't stayed there, but did consider it for a family car trip.

yup, that's been one of the techniques!

Departure is, hopefully, from the beach at low tide in Calais. Mayor is currently on board so looking good (helps getting the other permissions we need)...

I think we've found TWO hotels in Kent, I'll post here once confirmed.

It's been quite an interesting process, so another thread follows...

Found three.

Chilston Park Hotel, very positive, all good.
Broome Park, very positive, all good.
Eastwell Manor, very positive but couldn't get the farmer's permission.

Thanks for the suggestions!
