SAC/Perth Airport Fly In 2017 18-20 August 2017

It's now just over a week until our 2017 fly in, with plans all now finalised and a great weekend ahead!

The event will run from 1400 on Friday 18th August to 1400 on Sunday 20th August. We are hopeful that a a number of aircraft will join us from all over the country - camping on site - and have a programme that includes talks, lectures and visits. A full copy of this programme and the "event information" generated with all times and details is attached but some of the highlights include:

FRIDAY 18th
A BBQ and music from 1800 hrs (All welcome)

SATURDAY 19th
Visit: Guided tours of the (normally closed) AST hangar
A rare opportunity to go behind closed doors and see the great collection of aircraft held by AST on a guided tour!
Talk: RNAV (GNSS) Approaches
This promises to be an extremely informative session for all pilots, operators, controllers and ground staff that you will not want to miss!
Talk: “Sky Watch: The UK Civil Air Patrol”
If you’ve ever considered becoming a member of the UK Civil Air Patrol; are already a pilot or observer with them; or just want to know more, this is a great session for you!
Talk: “Meet the LAA”
Join senior members of the LAA who have travelled North to support this informative session to learn about what the organisation is up to right now and how this could affect you.
Talk: “A Nip Around Scotland”
A real fun session that breaks all the rules by mixing flying and drinking – so please ensure that you’ve had your last flight of the day before participating in the tasting!
Talk: “Flying For Freedom”
The FFF team will be in Perth all weekend, offering air-experience flights to ex-service personnel but if you’d like to hear more about what they do – and their medium term goal to fly to the Antarctic – you will not want to miss this great session which will also include a video of recent adventures.
Visit: “ACS Open Hangar”
In addition to the other events on-going, ACS have agreed to throw open the doors of their maintenance hangar for the duration of the event. This means that visitors will be able to see what happens in this normally closed hangar in support of local aircraft operations.
Model Flying Showcases
Come and see some of the countries best model fixed-wing, helicopter and jet pilots fly at Perth! A really exciting experience not to be missed!
Traditional Ceilidh & Disco
Finally, dance the night away with our live ceilidh band whilst enjoying a cooked chilli and drinks. A great way to end a great day!

SUNDAY 20th
Departing Breakfast
Enjoy a cooked breakfast with our visitors before they head for home!
