I believe the case involved a landowners airstrip near Uppingham in Rutland where there were trout fishing lakes nearby. The complainant was a serving RAF officer and a keen fisherman who was disturbed while engaged in his hobby. The aircraft made an approach and go around and would probably been within 500 feet of the angler. The pilot appealed the conviction but was unsuccessful. It had cost him a large amount of money in legal fees, fines and costs. Subsequently he gave up flying. The strip owner was a good friend of the pilot involved. He was also a good friend of mine. A very sad outcome. Arguably the airstrip was too short for the type of aircraft used to make a safe landing in any case. Hope this helps.
