Honourable Company of Air Pilots Ski Team

I am forming this currently. Actually two, men's team and women's team.

I need four of each gender (or more) for the Inter-Livery Ski Championships in January.

It's a lot of fun, and just a tiny bit competitive - we hope to win both trophies.

So, if you are a member (at any level) of the HCAP and fancy yourself on a pair of planks - please send me an email (not PM please): sam at prepare2go dot com.

Currently need one more boy and two more girls...

Ski safe! Sam.

Boys team is good to go, but still missing one lady! 19 and 20 January, in Morzine - so not much time but...

Will you assist everyone travelling to Morzine? Make sure that no strays are left?

Wouldn't you be better off asking via the HCAP internal comms?

Everyone has to make their own way to the start. If they're not at the start gate on time then they have to catch up.

HCAP don't want to bombard their members (which is fine) - this medium will still get to many but they can choose to open the thread or not...

Bit of a last minute call, with a low chance of success - but, never say never!

Ski safe, Sam.

Sam,

What is this "Inter-Livery Ski Championships"? Is it some sort of slalom on skis for all pilots? What are the entry requirements? Costs?

This may well be something I would be interested in, in the future!

Thanks.
Alex

Hi Alex,

The Honourable Company of Air Pilots (as was GAPAN) is a Livery company. Every year, the Livery companies hold a ski championship (GS and Slalom usually). It is:

1. A lot of fun.
2. Very interesting from a network point of view.
3. A lot of fun!

To enter, you must be a member/liveryman etc. of the HCAP (worthwhile in and of itself), and then register for the champs. More at www.liveryskiing.com

Cheers, Sam.

Last post on this for a while, but date and location confirmed for next year:

Morzine, 25 & 26 January 2018.

We need some very quick skiers/racers - of both genders. Please get in touch if interested.

Go Air Pilots!

I've just been told that another company has just cancelled some places - which we can grab if there is interest?

Currently have five for the boys team (though always happy to have more), and two for the girls. Need three to form a gender-based team result, so if there are any members of the fairer sex who are nippy on a pair of planks and part of the HCAP please get in touch ASAP.

Go Air Pilots!

Should have thought of this earlier, but if anyone is in/near Morzine - the prizegiving is tonight. Hoping for a good result, but regardless - if you're around, would be great to see you.

Ski safe, Sam.

Well, we had a great competition!

Three individual results (all GOLD!), and then another six medals - giving a total of nine (the most by any Company this year!).

It's also a lot of fun. We'll be going back next year, so I'm still on the look out for fast-skiing pilots (both genders).

Go Air Pilots!

Sorry, it's my annual resurrection of this thread!

Still looking for pilots on planks, but particularly any speedy ladies - we're one short of entering a ladies' team at the Livery Ski Champs in January...

Thanks, Sam.
