This is a totally different situation to the crash at the air show last year. The aircraft is not destroyed by fire and no one died. A sense of perspective is missing from your thread title.

Do you work for the tabloids ? We can all do without the drama in your title thread thanks. It's bad enough the local rags making a meal of it there's no need for fellow pilots with a vested interest in general aviation ( I hope ) Jumping on the band wagon as well. Think before you type people. This is our passion and in some cases livelyhoods your slamming with mindless comments. A simple "Bumpy take off goes pear shaped " would have been a perfectly suitable title numb nuts.

It wasn't a forced landing. It was a normal landing that went horribly wrong.

I wish the term 'crash lands' could be eradicated from journalists vocabulary - a plane either crashes or lands (possibly badly, possibly forced) but not both. A plane crashing will have impacted Mother Earth (unless mid air as well) and so by definition it will have 'landed'.

That and 'the pilot swooped at the last minute to avoid a school/hospital/housing estate/(add what you wish)' - no comment necessary.

Another source reports "no injuries" so perhaps the unfortunate crew were only taken to hospital for verification ,before being returned to service?

PS agree that "crash landing" is ridiculous vocabulary. But no the clowns do not know what they're talking about, and it seems to get only worse with time. Have you heard the UK's new foreign affairs minister made an "emergency landing" at Luton on his way to Brussels?
