2 Amphibians landing in formation

I was driving east on the highway, the wind was west. I noticed two amphibian aircraft on a parallel course to me, headed east, off to my left - paralleling a large pond/lake. They were on their downwind leg, and I could see the pilots watching left, checking out the planned landing area, and, also right, making sure that all was clear that way.

Then, they both banked together, off toward their upwind leg, to the left, starting to turn and line up for their landing. The aircraft at the outside of the turn applied extra power to stay alongside the other a/c. As they came in for a water landing, they lowered their gear, landed on the water, and taxied together. Perfect!

They were a pair of mallard ducks.
