EASA/France CPL from existing FAA CPL?
We're thinking maybe we'll move back to France from the US in the next 2-5 years. I have plenty of time to think about things and plan for them. Right now I have a FAA CPL-ASEL and IR, and PPL-H (which all being well will be a CPL-H by then).
Does anyone have experience of getting a French CPL from an existing FAA CPL? I don't mean getting a temporary permit in France (I've done that, moderate amount of tedious bureaucracy involved and it only lasts for 12 months), I mean getting an actual French CPL but not starting from scratch. I'd be interested for both the ASEL and H cases.
I don't (so far anyway) have any practical use for a CPL, so if it's really a pain I could stick to a PPL (and IR). So the second question would be the same thing but for PPL (based on FAA CPL) rather than CPL.

There will be a BASA on converting PPL Licences especially PPL IRs to EASA relatively pain free.
At present changing commercial licenses is another but painful matter
If you have no need for a commercial or ATP stick with converting the PPL licenses
