Prefab hangars

I'm looking to build a hangar big enough for 2 SEP, nothing fancy. I see in the U.S there are a few manufacturers that make prefabs where I would take care of the foundations, utilities and putting it up myself ( basically a flat pack IKEA kind of set up) which would work. Are there any similar type UK manufacturers that anyone is aware of or would recommend. I've seen the plastic ones that look like a golf ball chopped in half but am looking for something a bit more substantial.

Flosteel at Letham will make you one I'm sure. Their prices are pretty keen from what I remember.

Also there is an outfit local to you who made and erected a nice lightweight unit up at your local gas plant. I always thought it would have been better used to house an aircraft or two instead of the mowers etc it ended up housing. Guys on site will be able to tell you the name of the manufacturer.

I'd be looking at pre fab ag sheds, where you'll get the steelwork ready to bolt together and down and then siding and doors. If you have a look around local builders usually put a name plate somewhere on there. You could probably take a standard building and cut the overall height to save some steel and siding.

Just do not mention to any supplier that it is for an aircraft.
The price doubles if you do !

^^^^ but you need to be able to drive in a tractor with large spraybooms deployed!

(most of these Ag. buildings are "clear-span," anyway. there are several farmer and tractor-orientated publications that carry ads for these, ...steelwork kits are usually 2 uprights and 2roof-halves per portal-bay...bolt together at eaves and ridge, hoick upright and bolt feet to prepared pads.....purlins often timber, -should be cheaper to source locally, or use z-purlins.....do not skimp on the roof ...remember the snow-loading can be very high up there!.....It.s possible that they will make a frame with steeper pitch for the roof and the saving having low sides, would probably even-out the price....plastic-covered box-profile sheets at a steep enough angle, should shed any reavy build-up.

obvious, (but not! ) ridge fore and aft! you don't want ~100 cu.feet of snow to dump over the entrance!.....allow width to top and tail aircraft without fouling stanchions or doorway.
