Group Flying

Just seen an AFORs ad for a flying group at Popham.

If this is the same bunch of shysters who crashed three planes, are being sued for damages and were written to by the CAA about the legality of their operation, its a question of buyer beware. Make sure you ask lots of searching questions. If anything d odgy happens you could lose everything you own.

If its the group I think it is they are like Hotel California, no one with any sense will go near them and it’s impossible to leave cos' you can’t sell your share, but hey, you won't get a share certificate to prove you own anything anyway!

I considered buying a share in this group and asked questions on here about the Popham flying Group. The resulting information was pretty damming. 3 total wrecks in 6 years and the last crash of G-ARHN a few feet from the busy A 303 was lucky not to have caused the mayhem that the Hunter caused yesterday!

Two concerned members of this syndicate attempted to do something about the terrible safety record but were expelled for their concern over public safety. The CAA did not act after the AAIB found there was no one legally in command of the aircraft. The syndicate continues in the same way and if there is an incident involving anyone outside the syndicate then damages will be unlimited. So buyer beware!!

This is written in the spirit of public safety and awareness - this group is unicorporated and therefore cannot suffer deformation but the public has a right to know.

It should be said - there are many flying groups at Popham, most with a very good track record.

Ah, one of those.

Go start your own syndicate chaps - leave the others to go play in their own way.

Presumably some of the aeroplanes ended up being somewhat deformed though.

Perhaps Steve and Jackson are the two who got expelled from the group (overwhelming majority vote at an AGM). If so, then one of them just lost his legal claim against the group, which shows what the judiciary think of their opinions. They can still post their bile on here though!
